Subject: Hello from Guatemala! Dear Mary and Tom, Hi! My name is Sofia, and I'm your new student from Guatemala. I'm sixteen years old, and I'm going to study English in your city for two months. Thank you very much for having me in your home. I'm very excited and a little nervous!
My flight lands at Dublin Airport at 4:15 p.m. on the tenth of July. I'm going to wait for you near the information desk. I'll have a big blue suitcase and a yellow backpack, so you can find me easily. Please tell me if there is anything I need to bring for you or for the house.
I have some questions. Do you eat dinner early or late? Is there a place in the house where I can study? And what's the weather like in July? I've heard that it can rain a lot. I'm bringing a coat, but I don't have an umbrella yet.
About me: I love music, I play the guitar, and I like to walk in the afternoon. I eat almost everything, except mushrooms, which I really don't like. I also need to tell you a secret: I'm afraid of dogs. I know it's silly, and I'm going to try to be brave, but I wanted to tell you before I arrive.
I can't wait to meet you! Best wishes, Sofia
Subject: Re: Hello from Guatemala! Dear Sofia, We're so happy you're coming! We'll be at the airport with a big sign with your name on it. Dinner is at seven, and there's a desk in your room. Don't worry about the rain, because there are three umbrellas by the door. About the dog: his name is Max, and he's very shy. We've attached a photo of him wearing a sign: "I'll be gentle. Promise." See you soon! Mary and Tom
