Every Thursday, I take the bus to my grandma's farm. It's small, but I love it. There is a red barn, a big tree, and a long road to the river.
My grandma wakes up at five. She makes coffee, and then she gives corn to the chickens. She knows every chicken by name. "Good morning, Rosa! Good morning, Luna! Where is Pepe?" The chickens run to her, and she laughs. Pepe is always late.
I help with the eggs. Today there are ten, and two are still warm. After that, we eat tortillas and beans at the wooden table. Grandma tells me stories about the farm when she was a girl.
In the evening, I wait for the bus. Grandma stands at the gate. The chickens stand next to her, all in a line, like a little family. I wave, and Luna says something. Maybe she says goodbye.
