Regular verbs form the past and the participle by adding -ed: walk, walked. Follow these rules: if it ends in e only add -d (like, liked); if it ends in consonant + y it changes to -ied (study, studied); and some double the final consonant (stop, stopped). Practice reading the past aloud, because -ed sounds three different ways.
