How to study this deck
This vocabulary helps you in the street, at the airport and on transport. Study first what you see when walking (sidewalk, traffic light, crosswalk) and then what you need to travel (passport, boarding pass, luggage). Practice an imaginary trip step by step: arrive at the terminal, show your passport, find the gate.
The trickiest words
- sidewalk: it is the sidewalk in the US; in the UK it is called "pavement".
- luggage: it is uncountable: "some luggage", not "a luggage". For one piece, say "a suitcase".
- ticket: it is a transport or entry ticket and also a fine ("a parking ticket").
Examples in context
She stopped at the traffic light.
He packed his suitcase for the trip.
They were stuck in a traffic jam.
They waited in the terminal for their flight.

They parked too close to the fire hydrant.
She packed light and only took a carry-on.
