312. My name is Pilar, and I live on Mars. My cousin Tobi lives on Earth. He wants to know about my day, so I'm writing this for him.

On Mars, a day is called a sol. A sol is 24 hours and 39 minutes long. I like the extra 39 minutes. I sleep a little more!

Our town is in a big crater. We live under a glass dome. There are no trees here, but there's a garden with beans and tomatoes. At eight, I eat breakfast with my dad. Then I walk to school through a long tunnel.

My school is small. It has only eleven students. We play in the gym, not outside. Outside, there isn't any air to breathe, and it's very cold.

I can't go out without a space suit. My suit is big and heavy. It takes twenty minutes to put on. On Earth, you just open the door and walk out. You feel the wind and the rain on your face. I never feel the wind. I want to feel it one day.

After class, I wait for my dad at the school window. The sun goes down behind the crater. The sky around the sun turns blue, not orange or red. Tobi, you have the wind. But I have a blue sunset every evening.
