One morning, a girl called Goldilocks walked in the forest. She saw a little house and knocked on the door. Nobody answered, so she went in.
In the kitchen, there were three bowls of soup on the table. The first soup was too hot. The second soup was too cold. The third soup was just right, and she ate it all.
Then she saw three chairs. The big chair was too hard. The middle chair was too soft. The small chair was just right, but, crack! It broke, and Goldilocks fell on the floor.
She was tired, so she went upstairs. There were three beds. The big bed was too high. The middle bed was too low. The small bed was just right, and she fell asleep.
Soon, the three bears came home: Father Bear, Mother Bear, and Baby Bear. "Somebody ate my soup!" said Baby Bear. "Somebody broke my chair!" Then they went upstairs. "Somebody is sleeping in my bed!"
Goldilocks woke up, saw three bears, and jumped out of the window. She ran home and never came back. The bears looked at the broken chair. "Now we need a new chair," said Baby Bear sadly. "And a lock for the door," said Father Bear.
