Cómo estudiar este mazo
Los modismos no se pueden traducir literalmente: "It's raining cats and dogs" no habla de animales. Aprende cada expresión con su significado real y una situación en la que la usarías. Elige tres por semana y úsalas de verdad en una conversación; así se quedan en tu memoria mucho mejor que si solo las lees.
Palabras que más cuestan
- break the ice: significa romper el hielo, iniciar una conversación entre desconocidos. Se usa igual que en español.
- piece of cake: significa algo muy fácil: "The exam was a piece of cake". Es "pan comido" en español.
- under the weather: significa sentirse mal o enfermo. No tiene que ver con el clima.
