Jake and his sister Mia were hiking up Blue Mountain when dark clouds appeared in the sky. "We need to hurry," Jake said, checking his watch. The trail back to the car was still two hours away.
Suddenly, thunder crashed above them and rain began to pour. Mia slipped on a wet rock and grabbed a tree branch just in time. "Are you okay?" Jake shouted over the wind.
They found a small cave, just big enough for two, and waited inside listening to the rain until the storm finally passed. When the sky cleared, they climbed down the mountain together, tired, muddy, but safe.
At the bottom, Jake finally checked his phone. There were twenty missed calls from their parents, and one text: "We already called the park rangers!" He quickly texted back: "We're okay! Explaining everything at home." Jake looked at Mia and laughed. "I think we're in more trouble now than we were on the mountain."
