What does the prefix aero- mean?

Aero- comes from the Greek aer, which means "air". You will find it in words about sports, science, aviation and even household products. They all share the same idea: they have something to do with air or with flying.

Aero- from the gym to the sky

Aero- covers a surprising range of everyday life: exercise classes, aircraft design, the sprays under your sink and space travel. The link is always air. A quick way to sort the words: if it is about moving through the air, think flight and speed. If it is about breathing or air carried in a can, think body and chemistry.
