"Can I TRY to know something?" = no, se sabe o no se sabe (estativo). "Can I TRY to run?" LISTA RAPIDA DE VERBOS ESTATIVOS FRECUENTES: know, understand, believe, think (opinion), realize, recognize, remember, forget, suppose, imagine, want, need, prefer, love, hate, like, dislike, wish, seem, appear, look (parecer), have (poseer), own, belong, contain, consist, include, feel (percepcion pasiva), see (percibir), hear, smell (oler), taste (sabor). Regla rápida

Stative verbs (estados: know/want/understand/love/believe/seem/have-poseer) = NO formas continuas. Dynamic verbs (acciones: run/write/work) = todas las formas. Verbos MIXTOS: two meanings = two categories. "I THINK it is right" (opinar, estativo) vs "I AM THINKING about it" (deliberar, dinamico). "I HAVE a car" (poseer) vs "I AM HAVING a meeting" (celebrar).
