The desk won't fit here.

Suit

Match

Your shoes match your bag. The two signatures match.

Errores frecuentes

Mal: That color fits you.

Bien: That color suits you.

Mal: These pants don't suit me. They're too tight.

Bien: These pants don't fit me. They're too tight.

"No me quedan" por talla es fit. Suit sería que no te favorecen.

Mal: Does three o'clock fit you?

Bien: Does three o'clock suit you?

Un horario que te conviene es suit. Fit no se usa para eso.

Truco

Depende

Fit fuera de la ropa
Fit también es encajar o corresponder: He fits the description (coincide con la descripción), The punishment should fit the crime.
The painting suits the living room.

Suit habla de si te favorece o te conviene: The color suits you.

Depende. Si es la talla, it fits me. Si es el color o el estilo, it suits me. Si combina con otra prenda, it matches.
