"No" y "none" son formas negativas independientes; "not any" y "not a" son negaciones con auxiliar. La regla: NO/NONE = frases sin auxiliar negativo; NOT ANY/NOT A = frases con auxiliar ya negado (do not, have not, etc.).
NO: determinante negativo que acompana a un sustantivo. "There are no results" = no hay resultados (no + sustantivo plural). "There is no time" = no hay tiempo (no + sustantivo incontable). "No student passed" = ningun estudiante aprobo (no + sustantivo singular). NO funciona SIN auxiliar negativo — la negacion esta en el propio NO. NONE: pronombre negativo que sustituye a un grupo nominal ya mencionado. "I looked for solutions but found none" = busque soluciones pero no encontre ninguna (NONE reemplaza "solutions"). "None of the reports were ready" = ninguno de los informes estaba listo (NONE OF THE + sustantivo = ninguno de los). NONE OF THE + sustantivo singular = verbo singular. NONE OF THE + sustantivo plural = verbo singular o plural (ambos aceptados en ingles moderno).

NOT ANY: negacion que se usa cuando el verbo YA LLEVA UN AUXILIAR NEGATIVO (do not, does not, did not, have not, is not, etc.). "I do not have any time" = no tengo nada de tiempo (el auxiliar "do not" ya es negativo, luego "any"). "She did not find any solutions" = no encontro ninguna solucion. NOT ANY = cualquier + negacion del auxiliar. "There is not any milk" = no hay nada de leche (el "is not" lleva la negacion). NOT A: igual que NOT ANY pero con sustantivos contables singulares: "I did not receive a reply" = no recibi ninguna respuesta. La regla de la DOBLE NEGACION: "I did not find no results" = INCORRECTO en ingles estandar (doble negacion, error gramatical). Correcto: "I did not find any results" o "I found no results."

Los errores clasicos: (1) DOBLE NEGACION: "I did not find no errors" = INCORRECTO en ingles estandar. La doble negacion es gramaticalmente incorrecta en ingles estandar (aunque es comun en algunos dialectos del ingles). Correcto: "I did not find any errors" (auxiliar negativo + any) O "I found no errors" (sin auxiliar negativo + no). (2) "I no have time" = INCORRECTO. En ingles, NO no puede ir directamente ante un verbo (eso es espanol). Correcto: "I have no time" (have + no + sustantivo) o "I do not have any time" (auxiliar negativo + any). (3) "None of the team are ready" vs "None of the team is ready" = ambas son aceptadas en el ingles moderno. NONE OF + plural sustantivo puede llevar verbo singular o plural.
Truco para recordarlo
La REGLA DEL AUXILIAR NEGATIVO: mira el verbo. Tiene ya un auxiliar negativo (do NOT, does NOT, did NOT, have NOT, is NOT, are NOT)? = usa ANY / A (no + sustantivo ya se encarga el auxiliar). ¿Sabías que...?
La doble negacion ("I don't have no money") es gramaticalmente incorrecta en el ingles ESTANDAR, pero en realidad es la forma NORMAL en muchas variedades del ingles no estandar: el ingles afroamericano vernacular (AAVE), el ingles cockney londinense, el ingles de Appalachia, y el ingles de muchos dialectos rurales de Estados Unidos y el Reino Unido la usan sistematicamente. La doble negacion en estos dialectos no es un "error" — es una regla gramatical sistematica de esas variedades. De hecho, la doble negacion es la forma normal en el espanol ("no tengo nada"), el frances ("ne...pas"), el italiano ("non...niente") y la mayoria de las lenguas del mundo. El ingles estandar (sin doble negacion) es la excepcion global, no la regla. Los gramaticos del siglo XVIII la prohibieron porque era "logicamente incoherente" (dos negativos hacen un positivo en matematicas), pero esto impone logica matematica a la gramatica — algo que los linguistas modernos consideran una aplicacion inapropiada.
