An adult moose can weigh up to 700 kg and stand over 2 meters tall at the shoulder, taller than most vehicles. Despite its enormous size, it can run at 56 km/h and swim for hours. MOUSSE comes directly from French, where it simply means "foam" or "froth." Chocolate mousse was popularized in France in the late 1800s. Hair mousse was invented in the 1980s as a lighter alternative to gel. Curiosity: in Europe, the North American moose is called "elk," but in North America "elk" refers to a different, smaller animal (the wapiti). The European "elk" and the North American "moose" are the same species.
