Common mistake
- •"Moreover, we have a team" when simply adding neutral information is imprecise: "moreover" is used when the second point intensifies or surprises relative to the first.
- •For same-level information: "In addition" or "Additionally".
- •Also: "In addition to" (preposition) + noun/gerund, not a phrase with subject + verb.

- •"Moreover / Furthermore" = a point that intensifies or is more important.

Second-language writing studies show that Spanish-speaking writers tend to overuse FURTHERMORE in all contexts, possibly perceiving it as a sophistication marker. This phenomenon is known as "prestige connectors": the learner overuses them because they associate them with high-quality English, which paradoxically makes the text sound artificially formal in contexts where a simpler connector would be more appropriate.
